Meet Mrs. Wendl
Hello! I am Mrs. Wendl, and welcome to St. Francis of Assisi’s 3rd Grade Classroom, where we hope to help all kids become lifelong readers and leaders! I love integrating subjects and having students participate in meaningful and engaging projects.
I graduated from Fontbonne University with a Bachelor of Arts and am certified to teach early childhood and elementary education. I graduated from Missouri State in Spring 2022 with a Master of Science In Education and Literacy. I have my reading specialist certification. I plan to continue teaching in my classroom while utilizing all my new literacy knowledge.
I have been married to my husband since June 2020, and we have one son, born in July 2023. We love to travel, bike, and German dance in our free time!
This will be my eighth year of teaching; all eight years have been at SFA. It feels like home, and I love my school family!

Meet Mrs. Cooney
Hello! I am Mrs. Cooney, the third-grade teaching aide. I love the work we do at St. Francis and enjoy helping in any way I can to make it a wonderful learning environment for students.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was young, but I did not know in what capacity. I went to Fontbonne University for Speech and Language Pathology for kids, but before getting my master's, I wanted real-life experience in the classroom. I have loved every minute of being a teaching aide in third grade.
I attended St. Francis when I was a student, and I love the opportunity to teach at the school that I love. I got married in the fall of 2023! My husband and I enjoy spending our free time surrounded by friends and family. I am also a big St. Louis Blues fan!
The teachers and staff make St. Francis a special place to teach. It is a blessing to work and teach with such amazing people. Everyone works hard to make St. Francis a great learning environment for each student. We are also blessed to have such wonderful families and students in our community!
