Meet Mrs. Vonder Haar
Hello! I am Mrs. Vonder Haar, and welcome to the St. Francis of Assisi Art Room! I am fortunate to work with Preschoolers monthly and Kindergarten through Middle School electives weekly. I enjoy working with students to inspire a love of art and to discover what amazing art they can create.
I have created art from an early age. I still have the first piece of clay I made in kindergarten! I attended the University of Central Missouri and received a BS in Graphic Arts.
I attend art workshops and professional development days to engage with other art teachers across the county.
My husband and I have two children, both alumni of St. Francis of Assisi School, and a grandbaby named Rose. We enjoy traveling, kayaking, and camping.
I have been thrilled to be at St. Francis for six years. The Art Room is a great place filled with the smell of tempera paint. Clay, paper mache, wire, paper, cardboard, and yarn fill the shelves. More choices exist to add color with pencils, ink, markers, colored pencils, crayons, color sticks, chalk pastels, and oil pastels. Creativity abounds as the students sketch, paint, weave, sculpt, and draw masterpieces.
