“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think.”

Meet Ms. Carroll

I am what some people call a "lifetimer." I have been teaching for 35+ years. I completed my undergraduate studies in Special Education-Hearing Impaired at MacMurray College in 1987. In 2001, I received my Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Fontbonne University, and in 2018, I completed the certification program at Parks University for Educators and Speakers of Other Languages.

I hold Missouri certifications in Special Education-Hearing Impaired, Special Education-Cross Categorical, 5-9 General Science, 5-9 Mathematics, and 9-12 Biology. Although I have taught all grade levels, Pre-K through 12, I feel that Middle School is where I truly belong.

I am originally from Sacramento, California, and attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School and St. Francis of Assisi All Girls Preparatory High School in Sacramento. Teaching at SFA is like a homecoming for me.

Being at St. Francis has revitalized me as an educator. Working with the SFA staff, students, and parents always brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart.
