Meet Dr. Julie Jordan

Welcome, SFA students! I'm so happy to be the performing arts teacher at our school. I will see most Kindergarten through 6th grade students once a week to do music, theater, and even some movement. I believe that ideas and skills from the performing arts can help all of us. We will use games and activities every week to help students practice collaboration, express themselves creatively, and grow their self-confidence.

I have loved theater and the performing arts my whole life. I studied performance at Washington University, Oxford University, and Brown University, eventually earning my PhD at the City University of New York. I have taught drama at all levels from Kindergarten through college and worked for many years at the Webster Conservatory of Theater Arts before coming to SFA. In addition, I have been involved in Christian Education for over 20 years, teaching Sunday school and directing music for church programs and VBS.

My husband and I have four boys (in high school, college, and out of college). We love to see movies and shows, play board games, and root for the Cardinals, the Chiefs, and St. Louis City!

I am so happy to get to know all of the wonderful students and families at SFA, and I love that I can combine my passion for the performing arts with Christian spirituality in an environment with other terrific, creative, caring professionals.
