Teachers worked really hard last week updating our curriculum and creating curriculum units with the help of national curriculum expert Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs. We spend the week after school gets out each year looking at data for gaps and overlap and making adjustments for continual improvement.
∙St. Francis of Assisi is partnering with St. Cecelia Academy in the creation of curriculum units using the new Archdiocesan Curriculum Framework. A Beyond Sunday Grant financed our work with Dr. Jacobs this year and EANS funds will assist with next year’s PD. We, along with St. Dominic School in O’Fallon, MO, are taking a leadership role in this work for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. By doing this, the teachers look much more deeply at curriculum, instruction, and assessment and our students benefit from the outcomes! ∙
