We are very blessed to have a robust fine arts program at St. Francis of Assisi! Music teacher, Mrs. Michelle Shaver-Krus is an instructor with Opera Theater St. Louis (OTSL) and introduced the art of Opera this year, with our eighth grade students writing, composing, designing, and directing an Opera starring our Kindergarten students using the Words! Music! Opera! curriculum developed by OTSL.
This summer, some St. Francis students took their learning further by participating in Opera Theater St. Louis’s “Opera Explorers” camp. Fifth graders Avery, Madison, and Sadie and sixth graders Stella and Sarah became writers, composers, designers, directors, and stars of their own production. Mrs. Shaver- Krus is one of the teachers who leads this summer camp each year. How blessed we are to have her at SFA! Congratulations to these star students and their teacher!
